What makes my practice unique
About LM Counselling
I’m a specialist mental health clinician with advanced qualifications and training, including accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
I have over 15 years’ experience in child and adolescent mental health, attachment disruption, complex trauma, and PTSD, supporting individuals who have been exposed to multiple traumatic events.
My expertise spans assessment, formulation and treatment planning, ensuring that interventions are evidence-based and tailored to your unique needs.

My Approach
With deep clinical experience across public mental health, trauma services, and private practice, I see therapy as a collaborative process.
It isn’t about me having all the answers; it’s about working together with curiosity and reflection to better understand what’s happening in your life.
- My practice is inclusive and affirming. All clients are welcomed and respected across gender, sexuality, neurotype, and culture. I work from a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based framework that prioritises safety, trust, choice, and empowerment.
- I focus on how people relate to themselves and to those around them, because many challenges make sense when we look at them in the context of family, relationships, and the ways our bodies and minds have learned to stay safe. Therapy is about building awareness, opening up choice, and supporting growth rather than simply trying to “fix” problems.
- Above all, I bring compassion, clarity, and honesty. Together, we can make sense of what feels heavy, confusing, or hard to put into words, the things that get in the way of you living the kind of life and having the kinds of relationships you’re hoping for.
Boutique Practice
My practice is intentionally small and personal – every client works directly with me.
Therapy is most effective when you feel safe enough to be open and vulnerable, and I’ve created a space that supports this process. My home-based setting is quiet, private and free from the clinical feel of larger practices. I’ve consciously designed the space to create a calm and comforting environment that fosters a sense of security and trust. My cats, Mia and Grace, may occasionally make an appearance, offering a grounding presence for those who find comfort in animals, particularly during trauma-focused work.
