Supporting you to find clarity and connection; in yourself and your relationships.
I’m Lindsay Munyard. For over 15 years, I’ve sat with people in their most difficult moments; children who feel misunderstood, teenagers finding it hard to cope, and parents or couples struggling to connect.
We all carry patterns: stress, old wounds, habits that once served us but now trip us up. My job is to help you understand how your mind, your nervous system, and your relationships are interacting and to guide you toward a path that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with your goals.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I draw from family therapy, EMDR, attachment work, cognitive methods, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor my approach so that therapy works for you.
My Approach
With deep clinical experience across public mental health, trauma services, and private practice, I see therapy as a collaborative process. It isn’t about me having all the answers; it’s about working together with curiosity and reflection to better understand what’s happening in your life.
My practice is inclusive and affirming. All clients are welcomed and respected across gender, sexuality, neurotype, and culture. I work from a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based framework that prioritises safety, trust, choice, and empowerment.
I focus on how people relate to themselves and to those around them, because many challenges make sense when we look at them in the context of family, relationships, and the ways our bodies and minds have learned to stay safe. Therapy is about building awareness, opening up choice, and supporting growth rather than simply trying to “fix” problems.
Above all, I bring compassion, clarity, and honesty. Together, we can make sense of what feels heavy, confusing, or hard to put into words, the things that get in the way of you living the kind of life and having the kinds of relationships you’re hoping for.
Experience
For more than 15 years, my work has spanned hospitals, community services, and private practice. Beginning in child protection and trauma services, growing into senior roles across public mental health, and now through my own practice LM Counselling.
I’ve supported clients at every stage: children, families, adolescents, adults, couples, veterans.
Through all this, my focus remains consistent: to see the whole person, their history, their relationships, their strengths, and to help them feel safe, supported, and confident in moving forward.
